European Bee-Eater in Flight

This time of year, we have the European Bee-Eaters nesting in Israel. We're so lucky to have these beautiful birds visiting us every year, and observing them is such a treat! I only pray that we will be wise enough to protect their nesting areas so that they keep returning here.

This photo shows one of them in flight, as she approaches a branch to land on. The amazing colors, dexterity, and flexibility are on full display here. Amazing little creatures!
