| Kingfisher on a Tree |
While COVID-19 has basically thrashed all my travel plans for almost a year now, at least my photos are getting some mileage! This photo of a Common Kingfisher standing on a tree branch observing the water below has been selected to be displayed in an exhibition at Valid World Hall in Barcelona, Spain! Opening night is January 15.
Common Kingfishers are arguably the most beautiful of the Kingfishers we have in Israel, with lots of character and mesmerizing colors. This particular one is a female - that's easy to observe by the virtue of the bottom part of her beak being red. The males have beaks that are completely black.
Here's to hoping to be able to travel myself soon...
