| Robber Fly |
This time of year the Robber Flies are very common in Israel. They catch other insects in the air (other flies, bees, etc.) and feed on them. Their most amazing aspect for me are the beautiful eyes. I very much recommend zooming in to see the details. Bear in mind that this fly is only a few centimetres long - the detail you're able to observe here is something you'd be hard pressed to notice in nature...
