European Bee-Eater in Flight

I got some wonderful news the other day! This photo of a European Bee-Eater in Flight was selected to appear in Dodho Magazine!

You can find the actual publication here: https://www.dodho.com/centered-gurushots-photo-challenge/

I'm very happy and excited about this :)

This photo was a challenge to take, as the Bee-Eaters move rather quickly and erratically though the air in their hunt for flying insects, so grabbing on in the frame with any amount of good detail is not an easy task.

What do I like about this photo? The beautiful pose of the beautiful bird, with the tail fully spread out, the wings somewhat open, and the beak open. Really dynamic and interesting. The beautiful colors. The hint of blurred out bushes at the bottom. I used an open aperture to create a shallow depth of field, so the Bee-Eater is in focus but the background is blurred out. I used a fast shutter speed to freeze the action, so the Bee-Eater is sharp even though it's moving very quickly.

What would I want to improve? A more interesting background would have been better. Better lighting would also have upgraded this photo.
