| Velvet-Spotted Blue on Flower |
One of the smaller butterflies around, the Velvet-Spotted Blue is nonetheless glorious when observed up close. Here we have one standing on a flower, with the colors of the flower matching the ones of the butterfly perfectly.
What do I like about this photo? The beautiful subject in a beautiful pose. There's a huge amount of details on the butterfly. I used an open aperture to have the butterfly in focus, but the background blurred out. The background is interesting enough to add to the photo without stealing any attention from the subject.
What would I want to improve? A slightly deeper depth of field might have gotten more details of the butterfly into focus, without hindering the beautiful background blur too much.
