| Dragonfly Frontal Portrait |
The skies are filled with Dragonflies this time of year. With the wings shimmering in the sunlight, it looks like we have little fairies filling the air! This photo shows a Dragonfly that came to rest on a little branch, and allowed me to get close enough to get good details on a "frontal portrait".
What do I like about this photo? The pose is beautiful. The wings are glittering in the sunlight, and the Dragonfly appears to be glowing because the sun is behind it. The colors are great. The background augments the Dragonfly wonderfully. The depth of field is just right so the Dragonfly is completely in focus, but the background is very well blurred out, making the Dragonfly stand out. The amount of detail is good, as well.
What would I want to improve? I would have liked to be a bit closer to get better details. A lower angle of view might have made for a more dramatic photo, but would change the background colors, so I decided against that.
