This photo is from a split second before the photo I published a few days ago. The beautiful European Bee-Eater is just taking off, with the insect it caught at the tip of its beak. Here we have a sparkle in the eye, which is huge.
A natural piece of art...
What do I like about this photo? The incredible and dynamic pose. The determined look in the eye. I used a fast shutter speed to freeze the action, and an open aperture to create a shallow depth of field. The result really makes the Bee-Eater stand out.
What would I want to improve? The background is a bit noisy, in my opinion.
