| Common Kingfisher on a Branch |
Arguably the most beautiful of the Kingfishers we get in Israel, and also the smallest, is the Common Kingfisher. Its colors are breath-taking, as is the somewhat pensive look in its eyes. Here we have one standing on a branch observing the waters below, looking for the opportune moment to fly down a grab a fish.
What do I like about this photo? The Kingfisher really stands out due to the colors. The branch is interesting, with the thinner branch wrapping around it. The background is blurred due to me creating a shallow depth of field by using an open aperture, which also makes the Kingfisher stand out.
What would I want to improve? I would have liked to be closer, to get more details on the Kingfisher. The background could have been blurred out a little more, as well.
