Dragonfly on Flower

Dragonfly on Flower

Dragonflies always amaze me. They have incredible flight control with their four wings, and their eyes, divided into thousands of eyelets, are something to behold.

Here we have a photo of one standing on a flower, from a frontal angle. You can see good details on the eyes, as well as the beautiful wings.

What do I like about this photo? The contrast with the background is great, bot for the Dragonfly and the flower. The amount of details is great, as well. I used an open aperture to have a shallow depth of field, which works well in this photo, blurring out the background but keeping most of the butterfly and the flower in focus.

What would I want to improve? I would have liked to have more of the wings in focus, but that would have blurred out the background less. Focus stacking (combining several photos with different focus points) might have solved this, potentially.
