| A Couple of European Goldfinches |
While waiting to photograph Kingfishers the other week, I suddenly noticed a couple of European Goldfinches that have landed on a rock in the water. What a pleasant surprise! These beautiful birds are usually very shy, so not easy to get good photos of, but I do like this one. You can even see the reflection of one of them in the water.
What do I like about this photo? The pose is wonderful, with one just about to touch the water with its beak and the reflection shown in the water, and the other on the lookout. The color contrast is nice, as well.
What would I want to improve? I would have liked to be closer, to get better details on these beautiful birds. Also, potentially a lower angle of view might have made for a more impressive photo.
