Crab Close-up

This beautiful Crab was crossing the dirt road just as I was driving by. Of course I had to stop and take some photos! It was brave enough to let me get close and fill the frame with the details. Awesome :)

What do I like about this photo? The amount of details is stunning. The pose is also great, including the shadow on the ground (the sun was pretty high by this stage of the day). The eye contact is also great. I used a low angle of view to create a dramatic effect, showing the Crab just as a fellow Crab would have seen it. This also blurs the background very well, since the distance to the background is large.

What would I want to improve? I should have closed the aperture a little more, to create a deeper depth of field, so that the beautiful "hands" would still be in focus (as things are they're a little blurred).
