Common Myna |
The Common Myna, also known as the Indian Myna, is not a native bird to Israel. It was brought here some years ago and has been immensely successful, since it's a very intelligent and adaptable bird. Even though it's non-native, and sometimes drives out birds that are native, I can't help but like this bird. It has amazing vocal technique, and groups can appear to be chatting for hours. It always reminds me of one of the Angry Birds stars, with this no-nonsense look on its face. This is a photo showing one on a bush it was enjoying eating from.
What do I like about this photo? The pose is interesting, there's a huge amount of details on the bird, right down to its eyes. The background is interesting enough without distracting too much from the main subject.
What would I want to improve? The background is a bit too noisy, so I would have preferred to blur it out more, of find a different point of view that would have made it less prominent.
