Western Marsh Harrier in Flight - Closeup

The Harriers are so elegant when flying - using minimum wing movement to hover effortlessly above the waters, looking for prey below. When they do find something, they suddenly move at unexpected agility and speed to grab smaller birds whilst in flight. An Impressive sight!

In this photo I was lucky enough to have a Western Marsh Harrier fly close enough to me to get pretty good details - that's rare as they usually shun the proximity of humans.
