Pelicans at the Lake

Pelicans at the Lake

A group of Pelicans feeding at the lake. The one in the middle obviously has caught a mouthful. If you look closely you can notice that there are also cormorants in the water, along with various other types of waterfowl. The pelicans are so much bigger than the rest, though, that they stand out as the main subjects of the photo. The reflection on the water gives a very peaceful atmosphere to the overall scene. The fish below are probably less peaceful...

What do I like about this photo? The atmosphere, the colors, the reflections. Pelicans are so graceful and elegant, and provide a splash of white in the middle of an otherwise darker frame.

What would I want to improve? Getting a little closer would have been nice - to get better details of the pelicans. Also, a lower angle of view might have improved the reflections a bit.
